It's even better when you play it with freinds.. The controller is bugged: it keep on running on the right side of the screen, making it impossible to play. The idea of this game is amazing. However, I have never been able to even play the game. Each time I've purchased it, it never works. I see that, on occasion, it gets updated, but nothing changes. Same ole crap. I would play a game like this in an instant. Just as long as it runs properly.. The pixel art is fine. The level design is not. I was hoping to at least find gameplay on par with Actraiser on the SNES, which basically amounted to running and jumping left and right, swinging a sword and maybe a magic spell, so the bar already isn't set that high. The controls are tight and responsive and feel fair, sure, but the level and enemy design falls so short of my expectations that I almost want my 99 cents back. The second boss isn't even animated. The ground so far is just right angles with absolutely nothing interesting going on, and the same couple goblin like guys who inexplicably shoot out bland balls of mediocrity. Given the state of the rest of the game, I'm actually surprised they managed to include platforms you can jump down from. The only aspect of this game that I could I feel remotely justified in applauding is how responsive and clean the controls feel. Everything else just feels like someone's half-finished first attempt at making a game.. Of all the games that are available, this one is fun and simple, rewarding since you upgrade as you go, with fun little secrets and puzzling mysteries... Does anyone want to share info about what you get after the alien\/ metroid level with a medusa\/ Zardoz type boss? My wife and I enjoy exploring and blasting our way through levels, cooperatively beating bosses, and the music is delightful. If you have questions, go to the game's facebook page and you can expect a quick response. No need to crack down on the game. Perhaps it is more a MegaManVania with quaint fantasy elements and less a MetroidVania but for those who enjoy it, it is just what we were looking for.. Plays like alot of the Megaman game and it has Local Multiplayer! so far im having fun with this one!. I've played about half an hour of The Dream King. I want to like this game. It sounds nice. But music alone does not a good game make. It feels so unpolished - like a high school kids hack at a flash game on Newgrounds. If patches ever come out, I might give it another go.Thank God for Steam Refunds.. The controller is bugged: it keep on running on the right side of the screen, making it impossible to play. Although there are multiple characters to play as, no true "metroid progression" style, and for the most part optional upgrades it still feels like it has a lot of backtracking when you realise you need more potions to keep up your health, or upgrades to do more damage. I still think that overall it's great, other than the familiars which require you to move the mouse to move the familiar, as well as control the character.
